Pastor E. John Citizen is a man with a servant’s heart who, after 17 years as a youth pastor, in December of 2009, was called to shepherd the flock of Spirit Life Church. God kept him close to a community he cultivated over the years, but strategically placed him at Spirit Life Church in Powder Springs, a suburb of West Atlanta.

This anointed man of God has been called to both preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His mission is to teach people how to apply the word to their everyday lives that they may be changed by the renewing of their spirits. His heart is in fellowship with God and his congregation. Pastor John moves according to the Holy Spirit often utilizing his biblical mantra, 1 John 4:4: “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.”

His Bible-based sermons, charisma, and convicting messages create an infectious love for Christ. Everyone is encouraged to follow their passion in creating new opportunities to reach others for Jesus Christ. In January 2010, Pastor John preached his first sermon and the church has seen exponential growth in the first quarter.

An extreme proponet of prayer, personal responsibility and team work, Pastor John is actively involved in touching the lives of young men and women spiritually, socially and politically. On an average week, he delivers 3 to 4 sermons to various middle and high school students in the local school system.

He has been married to the First Lady, Nikita, for 19 years and has three children, two boys (Nicholas and Jovan) and one girl (Brooklynne).
